15U AAA TB | 2006

Our players will have a complete travel hockey experience and compete against elite level competition. Our primary goal is to create a fun and competitive environment where every player can develop their skills and a passion for the game. Our programming this season is highly focused on player development so that each player is equipped with the skills necessary to advance and excel at the next level. 

The season structure consists of:

  • Tier I State Championship Tournament Bound Team
  • 40+ games including 3-5 tournaments
  • Core member of Eastern Exposure Series
  • 2-3 full-ice practices per week 
  • Off-ice sports performance training sessions throughout the season
  • Goaltending skills clinics throughout the season
  • Split season format to allow players to participate with high school teams
  • Team building and community service events

Dave is a USA Hockey Level 5 Master certified coach. He is a USA Hockey Select Festival Head Coach and Goaltending Coach. He has also had the opportunity to be a speaker at several USA Hockey Coaching Certification seminars from Level 1 to Level 4. In his years in Rochester, Dave has coached well over 50 teams from Mite to Junior A and college. Throughout his playing and coaching life, Dave has won 6 State Championships and 3 National Championships. Dave played youth hockey in Michigan culminating with a National Championship with the Little Caesars hockey program as a midget. He went on to play DI, DIII, and 2 seasons of professional hockey in minor professional leagues.

Dave has spent a lifetime developing his craft. Here in Rochester, Dave has been coaching, teaching and doing skill and skating development for nearly 30 years. Personally he has taught more than 50,000 private lessons and has worked with hundreds of thousands of hockey players of all ages. Dave is currently a lead instructor with Rochester Ice Center Hockey Academy.

Dave resides in Penfield, NY with his wife and four sons who are all hockey players.


Returning for his 3rd  season with the '06 AAA team, assistant coach Zach Bell brings his recent playing experiences to the next generation of young hockey players. A Fairport native, Zach played four years of varsity hockey at Fairport High School and serve as team captain his senior year.  Zach went on to play junior hockey for the Rochester Jr. Americans USPHL team for two seasons. 


Matt Sproule is joining the coaching staff for the 2021-22 season. The Fairport native who grew up playing in our program and went on to become a standout player for the Fairport Varsity High School hockey team.

Q: How are teams selected?

A: All our teams conduct open tryouts and final roster selections are determined by the coaching staff and members of our Hockey Development Group.


Q: Where do Jr. Amerks team skate?

A: The Rochester Ice Center is our home rink, however our teams utilize Paul Louis Arena, Bill Gray's Regional Iceplex, and Genesee Valley.


Q: What do you mean by "player-focused" development philosophy?
A: The vast majority of our players are between the ages of 5-15 which is an exciting and important time for their overall athletic development. Our program is designed around skill development so that our players can be successful and hopefully play the game for a really long time.  Learn more about our Player Development Program.

Q: How often does the team practice?

A: Our travel teams practice 2-3 times per week depending upon age group and skill level. Our AAA teams have three skates per week including a dedicated advanced skill development session plus two additional team practices. Additionally all our players have off-ice training sessions at Next Level Strength and Conditioning.


Q: How many players are on a team?

A: Most of our travel teams have 14-20 players per team. The younger age groups typically have 14-16 while older age groups have 16-20.
