The New York State Department of Health released new guidance today allowing “higher-risk” sports like hockey to resume competitive play—including participation in games and tournaments—on Feb. 1. In addition, Monroe County issued a statement today offering its support for “higher-risk" sports in the region to resume competition.
This is the day we’ve been waiting for all season. While there are still many questions to be answered, we believe today’s news is very promising and that our kids will finally have the chance to play games this season.
The Jr. Amerks are working with our rinks, leagues and the West Section of the New York State Amateur Hockey Association to establish a plan for resuming competitive play by Feb. 1.
