Kiara won both the Rookie of the Year and the Player of the Year

Kiara Zanon grew up playing in the organization and continues to train at RIC with our Hockey General Manager, Francois Methot when she's in Rochester. She's currently at Penn State University this season as a freshman and just  won two major CHA awards, both Rookie of the Year and the Player of the Year.

Kiara made her presence felt immediately and never slowed down as she was a driving force behind the Penn State's breakout season. She had 30 points, 10 more than the next closest player, scoring 10 goals and adding 20 assists. Zanon was one of four players in the CHA with double-digit goals and had a knack for big moments too, having tying for the league lead with four game-winners.

She was also named a finalist for the 2021 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award which is awarded to the best collegiate female hockey player in the country.
