The Rochester Jr. Americans express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Coach Lou DiMartino, who passed away on April 30. Coach DiMartino was a long-time hockey coach and mentor to thousands of kids in the Rochester area. He was a hockey icon in Rochester for many years, as he coached at Bishop Kearney High School and many local youth hockey organizations.

The Jr. Amerks were proud to have Coach DiMartino lead our 15U and 16U AA Travel Teams over the past two seasons. He was known for his ability to develop players both on and off of the ice.  Coach DiMartino was an old-school leader who demanded respect and personal accountability from his players. In return, he provided them with unconditional love and the opportunity to play the game of hockey.  Coach DiMartino is survived by his wife, Christine, his children and his grandchildren.

We are forever grateful for the mark Coach DiMartino left on the game of hockey, and for his contributions to our organization.
